I guess this will be my last post, as I mentioned yesterday this month has really gone by fast.

Thanks to ChinYew for the great opportunity to share what I do with everyone.

Last post is an oil of one of the many waterfalls that you see in Wyoming and Colorado!

I didn’t get up to the studio until after 12 today…almost the first nice day we’ve had for a while and I thought I better get a little yardwork done before it rains/snow again.

I remember when I sailed the San Juans a few years ago I remember seeing a little sailboat in the fog with a small pod of Orca’s swimming around…quite the sight. I made an attempt at painting what they call a West Wight Potter with company.

I think I’ll eventually do a larger one of this sketch and play with the fog stuff a little more….it was a fun study but needs more work!

The rest of the afternoon was spent messing around with some different oil colors for a portrait study….I don’t know if I mentioned earlier but most of these studies this month have been done on different canvases and boards with different palettes. I hate to say but the two I really like are Gator board with a little gesso and polymer medium and light tan mat board with a ground of polymer medium.

This study was done on a textured mat board with a matte polymer medium as a support. It was (as with some of the others) a little difficult to photograph!

Pretty good day for getting things accomplished….started with oil study of a Fisherman.

For my Daily I’m continuing with my references from the Living History day….loved the dresses these ladies were wearing and felt they make for an excellent challenge in portraying the essence of fabric and folds.

I keep coming back to this guy and revising it…this will be the last one!!

Didn’t get a lot of artwork done today….spent the day helping my son paint his condo in Saratoga, Wy.

I did change or reworked  an earlier post….charcoal on a light tan paper.

I’ve attached a few of the photo’s that surround Saratoga which is located on the North Platte river….a beautiful little town. The area that surrounds Saratoga is part mountain and part desert…interesting combination, but one that you see throughout Wyoming.

This is a photo of Elk Mountain…Saratoga is on the other side.

Looking at Elk Mountain coming out of Saratoga.

AND herds of Antelope from Walcott Junction to Rattlesnake Road. When I stopped for the photo they would just take off…very hard to photograph with a digitial.

Might try a painting of one tomorrow if time permits.

I’m attaching an interesting link for Saratoga…we all had dinner in the old Wolf Hotel (yes, Hotel) Saturday night! We sat at the bar and is still the same as in the attached photo:)
