Day 30 – Fin

Tomorrow will be an odd day. I will not be thinking of what I will paint, or trying not to forget to post on here. (I had this fear all month that I would just forget one day) I won’t be eagerly checking the site to see if anyone has left a comment. Tomorrow I will relax, and enjoy a day without painting. I am very content with my work this past month. Not all are great but some really strong pieces have emerged from these 30 days. I have a bigger portfolio and am proud of myself. I actually can’t wait to follow next months artist’s journey!

and now painting number 40!

Here is a nifty mosaic of all 40 paintings.

It hasn’t hit me yet that this month is over, so soon too. Maybe tomorrow…

Thank you everyone for your comments and support throughout this month it really helped me get through those tough days.

Day 29 – When to call it done?

I did not rush this, but I am not sure if I would say this is done or not. I guess I need to let it sit and just come back to it. Usually I know if a painting is done if I come back to it and feel like I can not get it to go any further.

I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day. One more painting. It has flown by and yet it has also taken time. Today I give you the dog…tomorrow I have one more to show you and I am going to try to get a recap together.

Day 28 – Exhausted

Only two days to go, and I must tell you I am exhausted. Although not so much from painting more from every day life lately. I barely had any time to work on my dog painting this weekend. It is still not finished. I hope tomorrow night I can manage to finish it. Only 2 more paintings left. I can see the finish line and that is an amazing feeling.

Sorry about the really horrible picture, will scan this tomorrow once the medium dries.

Day 27 – Sitting by the Fire

Well I will be shortly. It is the perfect fall night here to have a fire. No fire paintings today though. I did finish four though and started on another. Tomorrow I am working on my dog painting. I actually can’t wait to get to work on it and finish it.will we “will we always be”

Day 26 – Flying By

This month has seemed to fly by I can’t believe it is almost over. I have a few more paintings to do. I will definitely be spending a lot of time in my studio this weekend.

This is a quick one. I call it the Blob.  Maybe a date for my Amoeba monster?

Day 25 – Enemies

“The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend.” -Abraham Lincoln

This one is a series it goes with the friends painting. It is a mixed media piece as well.

Day 24 – Friends

“Friendship make prosperity more shining and lessens adversity by dividing and sharing it.” — Cicero

friends

I wish this would have scanned better. It is actually a mixed media piece. I used coffee filters for their skirts and there is a lot of texture. Also the skirts are suppose to be 2 different shades of red. Maybe I will try tonight to scan with some other settings and see if I can get it to look closer to how it actually looks.

Also I listed a few of paintings in my etsy shop. Keep an eye out some of the paintings from the past weeks will be up there soon. (This weekend if all goes good)

Day 23 – One of Those Days

Just having a bad day today so not much to say. Here is my party monster. I made this for the monster mash contest.

Day 22 – Almost There

Wow only one more week and this wild ride will be over. I am already getting all sentimental. I felt very sluggish the first 2 weeks, I had been stuck in this creative slump and felt like it would never end. One thing that just constantly going to the studio and painting everyday has seemed to snap me out of. I have so many ideas coming to me constantly, hopefully the momentum will carry over into next month. I did 2 paintings today. Another study of sorts. I am really working on my faces and I like this one. I also got a chance to experiment with tar gel.  That is what is mixed with a copper paint strung across the black void.

And one of my favorite things to paint…Birds. Used the same tar gel in a different way for the background of this one.

Day Twenty-One – It is almost Halloween

I found a photo of myself from halloween back when I was 4. I was a cowgirl and loved this costume. So I painted it.

This is the photo…

And the painting…

I also have a painting of one of my brothers figurines (action figures) I found but I added some slightly different colors to the mix and now he looks like he is rocking out. To what, well I like to think maybe some rage against the machine!
