What’s in a name?

“That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”

Testing out the macro setting on my camera…

Which in turn inspired me to paint roses…just a really quick painting.

Chin Yew’s Black Book

Okay, as promised, here’s my black book:

I’ve had this since my first year in art school.
This is where all my initial ideas are developed.
Even my first 30dayartist run; ideas are inside.
Hope you all enjoy it.-chinyew

O colour

O colour!
Soother of my soul
Life’s trivialities are easier to bear for thee
Waiting always for me
With a glad heart in the studio…

Well this painting has taken almost 2 months to make… but I did actually finish it a couple of days ago.
Perhaps inappropriate to post here, or perhaps that’s a technicality that can be overlooked?

This one is not finished, though it got to this point at the time I finished the above.
Liking the atmospheric quality of it – “atmospheric” – a word used by a studio-mate and how appropriate. Sometimes hard to see my own stuff, then someone else comes along and is able to make sense of it. Funny thing, this painting…
