Hi Thirty Day Artist blog,  my name is Heather Jerdee.   I’m not really awake yet it’s kinda early for me,  but I thought I’d post something today.  I’m excited about this, the last couple of weeks I ‘ve been trying to get all sorts of boring, menial tasks done so I wouldn’t have to worry about them this month.   I didn’t get them all done in fact I haven’t finished any of them, but put a good size dent in them  A for effort so far.  And now I am thoroughly ready to paint away.   First things first today , I have to go to work.   I work two days a week as a hairstylist and  tonight I have a birthday dinner w/ my parents and family because tomorrow is my birthday.   But Sunday is free I have nothing going on (the way I like it) and  hopefully I can post an  image of some sort.

THE DAY JOB

Recently, I’ve become self employed. I work when I want. Doing what I want. okay okay I still have Clients chasing me for work, but I don’t have office hours, and I don’t have to go to work. I do all kinds of work for money, mostly creative: I design, illustrate and do the occasional painting commision. Next week I start teaching an Oil painting Workshop. All of the above, I consider my Day Job, because I get paid to do those things.

THE NIGHT JOB

Then I have the night gig, which is a lot of work, but it doesnt pay me. The nigtgig is writing and drawing a webcomic called ‘Fantasy Story‘. It is my new love and passion, and the reason I started this comic was very similar to the reason ChinYew started 30dayArtist, and that is, to just start to just do it. I’ve wanted to make comics for 10 years before this. And ten years of doing nothing about it later, I have nothing to show for it. by contrast When I look at what people have accomplished in 10 years of consistant work on their comics. All I see are success stories. 10 Years seem to be a magic number in comics.

Just Imagine what I can accomplish by persuing this night gig for the next 10 years

THE FLIP

Now here’s my Crazy Idea.

I Dream of making this comic my Day Job, it that it can support me financially. While I can’t get paid for it right away I can swich timings and do it in the daytime, and do my freelancing at night! (sure there might be exceptions, but it could be a general rule) .

So the plan is i wake up , and after spending an artful morning (usually quiet time with God) , walking my dogs and all that, I start working on my comic. I spend my day making the strip, and doing the marketing and web mantainence that are part and parcel of all that. Then I put that aside and spend some time with relaxing with family, doing housekeeping. Then in the evening/night I work through my Night Job which pays me.

What do you think of that crazy Idea? Pros, Cons?

Been noticing how lately my paintings are coming a bit slower, I find myself thinking out the process a bit more than usual. So just thought I would share with you my latest. An experiment of sorts. One done the traditional way and the other digitally enhanced. Can you tell which is which?

Well this is just another of my geometric drawings that have some strange looking feeling to it maybe because is all made with a simple roller blue pen.

Today when i was cleaning my room i find it, incomplete of coarse only with the head lines, so i decided to finish it and post it here, is why it looks strange maybe because is a mix of my older skills with my newer ones, anyway HEHE

30 Day artist of June 2008.

Hi people finally i will post something, i am having some trouble since i am jobless but that do not matter here

I got a new camera in last December so since them i am trying to learn more and more about Photography and Video.
In the other day i went to the forest near my House seeking for something to take some super macro photos, but since is still winter i didn’t find much but that was until i find this tiny flowers that may be smaller than the size of a thumb, so i took some photos.

Here are they. (my favs of several photos taken) and yet a good subject for a drawing.
