Introductions

(to see a non-wide version, click on “May 2009″ to the right
under “Archives”.) Today is a day I’ve been preparing for
and looking forward to for quite some time. It’s actually
taken a couple of years until I felt that my schedule was such
that I could tackle this challenge and finish well. We shall
all see together what Lies ahead. I wanted to give you a bit
of an introduction so you can get to know me better and
also have something for you to see while I am painting
on this first day.

First and foremost, everything that drives me, motivates
me and empowers me is my relationship with God.
I aim to please Him in all I do, including what I say and
create here during the next 30 days.

I am also a youth pastor’s wife – happily married to
the man of my dreams. We work with teenagers,
guiding them and walking beside them through some
of the most important direction determining years of their lives.

Then as you know I paint in oils, and have been doing so
for about 7 years. When I don’t feel like dragging out the
paints and getting dirty, I enjoy photography and jewelry design.

Music is a huge part of my life. I sing
(usually duets with my husband) play the piano and the harp.
This month, on the 11th, I have the opportunity to perform
on the harp with the woodwind ensemble at Horseheads High School.
It will be interesting to fit practices in this week with the group.

In addition, I do graphic design (logos, business cards, brochures . . etc.)
Right now, my two regular clients are in the harp sales area.
One is a harp distributor (Virginia Harp Center), and the other a harp
manufacturer (Camac) located in France. This month,
I plan on using each creative outlet I can to give you
all a well rounded 30 Day Artist.

I am an artist who is caught in the web of dpubt and procrastination in drawing, painting and writing. I am 74 and realize life is speeding by. You have inspired me to try harder to get over my hesitation to do the things I love… how do you blog. I am barely computer literate….thanks for this site maggie
